I requested early draft on 1 Jan 1956, and was sent to San DSiego
for my boot Camp, after \Boot I was assigned to the USS MtMcKinley
AGC-7 in San Diego, and assigned to the radio Dept. On 1 Sept 1956
whe ship was assigned to the 6th fleet in Norfolk Va. 9 Januart 1957
the ship was deployed to the Mediterian, for NATO excersises where
we resqued a burning Greek fishing vessel, & towed it into safe port,
We returned to Norfolk on 19 June 1957, spending the summer there,
Sept & Oct 1957 were spent in Portsmouth England, returning to
Norfolk early Oct 1957 at that time I was transfered into USNR.
