Served from February 17, 1964 thru December 09, 1967 Active Duty and discharged on February 16, 1970.  Started at Great Lakes Training Center on a very chilly night in February, gratuated in May.  First assignment USS Neosho AO-143 East Coast, made the Med Cruise and Gitmo, made a trip to the Dominican Republic and was on stand-by on one of the space shuttles landings.  Next came the West Coast and Viet-nam via the Panama Canal and Hawaii.  After a tour of Viet-Nam, made my way to Hawaii for shore duty at Pearl Harbor, where I was stationed on Ford Island in the Water Transportation Department, running boats for tours of the Arizona Memorial and of the harbor.
