May 1963 joined Navy and went to San Diego Recruit Training Center, then IC A School. December 1963 off to USS Coral Sea (CVA-43)in Alameda, CA until my discharge into the ready reserves in April 1967. Back on active duty October 1967 to Treasure Island induction Center and then USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63)in November 1967 San Diego, CA. Initiated swap to USS William R. Rush (DD-714)in October 1968 homeported in Newport R.I.. Discharged from Navy in October 1969. Returned to USN June 1980 at Spokane, WA and then to Treasure Island Induction Center followed by a posting to USS Jesse L. Brown (FF-1089) in Charleston SC. In preparation for upcoming cruise, was sent to San Diego for DRAI School and Great Lakes, IL for Gyro School. Transferred to USS Preble (DDG-46)in June 1982 at Norfolk, VA. Next came the USS Caron (DD-970) February 1986 and USS Biddle (CG-34) March 1989. Converted to Naval Counselor rating in 1987 and made Chief in 1988. Finished my career as an instructor/instructor in charge at Naval Counselor School in Naval Training Center Norfolk, VA. from April 1991 to June 1994. Retired from Active Duty June 1994.
