 Served June '73 to July'77. After Recruit training at Great Lakes I went to the GM/A school. 
Reported aboard USS Cascade AD-16 in '74 in Naples Italy and stayed aboard until her decommissioning in 1975.
Then went to USS Nashville, LPD-13 in Little Creek and took a Med cruise with her as a part of Phibron 6. After the cruise we went to New York for the International naval Review and the Bicentennial. 
I broke my leg and after some time in medical hold in Norfolk I received orders to USS Nitro AE-23 in Earle NWS, Colts Neck New Jersey. I was short when I reported aboard, went with Nitro to the Yards in Philadelphia and was separated from active service on July9, 1977. Two years later I received my Honorable Discharge,
