I served in the USNR from 1984, when I enlisted, to 1994, when I
received an honorable discharge. I was in the SAM program (Sea Air Mariner)
and went to boot camp and apprenticeship training in Orlando, Fla., directly
to my first (and only) reserve duty station in Kearny, NJ. I was a member
of MILTRANSULANT 104, Earle 1004 and MSC Unit 104, Bayonne. I was in the USNR though not activated, during the Persian Gulf War so I have a Dept. of Defense ribbon. I also earned a shooting ribbon and a good conduct ribbon. I loved being a part of the Navy, like my father, grandfather and grandmother before me.
