Served from March 1975 to January 1981. Went to Orlando Recruit Training Center and graduated from the first Interservice Postal Operations School, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. First ship assignment was USS Vogelgesang DD-862 stationed in Newport RI. Transferred to USS Newman K. Perry DD-883 after her overhaul in the Boston ship yards. Shakedown cruise at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Honorably discharged in March 1981.
