Served from 1969 to 1977 as a Cryptologics Technician Interpreter (Mandarin Chinese and Arabic).  Ended enlistment as an E5.  Stationed at San Miguel Naval Communications Station, Philippines; NSA-Fort Meade, MD; Radio Telephone School, Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, TX 3 times; and Rota, Spain for 4 years.  Language schools - DLIWC Monterey, CA for Mandarin Chinese (1969-1970) - DLIEC Washington, DC for Egyptian Dialect Arabic.  During my last two years at Rota, worked as a self-taught computer programmer for the Communications Station on base.  Honorably discharged in September 1977 at Norfolk, VA.

After getting out of the Navy, I worked as a Computer Scientist for 30 years programming and designing weapons systems for Naval applications, especially for the Navy's AEGIS shipboard weapons system
