    Designated Naval Aviation Observer, Navigation (NAO-N) 1964 at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas

    Trained at the Replacement Air Group (RAG), NATC Patuxent River Md, 1964

     Assigned to Airborne Early Warning Squadron Thirteen (VW-13), 1964. Flew as navigator in EC-121 Warning Star. Deployments to Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland. Assigned to Navigation Division; Designated Check Navigator. Promoted to Lieutenant, Junior Grade, 1965. Designation changed to Naval Flight Officer (NFO)

     Assigned to Chief, Naval Air Basic Training (CNABATRA) staff, NAS Pensacola, 1965. Served as Assistant Public Affairs Officer. Promoted to Lieutenant, 1968. Received Sub-Designator as Public Affairs Officer.

     Assigned to Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) Glynco, GA, 1968. Trained as Air Control Officer (ACO) and E2 Airborne Tactical Data System (ATDS) officer.

     Assigned to Replacement Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 110 (RVAW-110), NAS North Island, CA, 1969. Designated Air Control Officer & Assistant Command & Control Officer (ACICO) in E2A.

     Assigned to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 115 (VAW-115), 1969. Deployment to Western Pacific (Viet Nam) on USS Ranger 1969-70; USS Midway 1970-71. Served as Avionics Division Officer & Maintenance Department Officer. Designated Command & Control Officer (CICO;) Transitioned to E2B.

     Assigned to Naval Plant Representative Office (NAVPRO), Bethpage, NY at Grumman Aerospace Corporation, 1972. Initially assigned as E-2C replacement crew training, but due to delays in production, was assigned to the E-2/C-2 program office as flight crew for development testing, and then acceptance testing of the E-2C. Assigned as E-2/C-2 Project Officer 1974. Promoted to Lieutenant Commander, 1975. Designated as Weapon System Acquisition Management specialty (WSAM)

     Assigned to USS Independence, NAS Norfolk, VA, 1975. Served as Assistant CIC Officer and Tactical Action Officer (TAO). Deployed to North Sea & Mediterranean Sea.

     Assigned to Replacement Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 120 (RVAW-120), NAS Norfolk, VA, 1976. Served as Fleet Replacement Airborne Maintenance Personnel (FRAMP) Department Head. Designated E2C Combat Information Center Officer (CICO) while TAD to RVAW-120. Promoted Commander, 1977

     Assigned to Joint Airborne Reconnaissance Control Center (JARCC), NAS Key West, Fl, 1978. Served as Director in a joint assignment. Also appointed Commander, Naval Personnel, JARCC 1979.

     Assigned to Naval Air Test Center (NATC), Patuxent River, MD, 1981. Assigned to ASW Test Directorate as E2-C2 Department Head. Conducted Test & Evaluation on both aircraft.

     Assigned to Naval Air Systems Command (NASC), Washington, DC (Jefferson Plaza, Crystal City, VA), 1984. Served in PMA-231 as E2-C2 Research & Development Desk Officer. Designated Material Professional (MP)

     Assigned to Naval Air Training Center, Orlando, Fl, 1987. Assigned to E2/C2/S3 Project Director; then as Naval Aviation Training Systems Department Head.

     Retired, August, 1989; Total of 26 years commissioned service.
