My first command after storekeeper "A" school and boot camp (Great Lakes) was USS White Plains (AFS-4).  1979-1982. I was originally a 3x6.  I got out and was a drilling reservist from July 1982-March 1983 at which time I joined the TAR program.  My next command was Naval Reserve Center, Southfield, Michigan from March 1983- May 1984.  I got transferred to Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center, Madison, Wisconsin in May of 1984 and stayed until May 1987.  I then got underway again in Long Beach, Ca. on the USS Duncan (FFG-10) from May 1987 thru May 1990.  I went to Naval Reserve Center, Santa Barbara and only stayed until  December 1991. I got transferred to Inshore Undersea Warfare Group One in San Diego, Ca.  I stayed there until sometime in 1994.  I was attached to Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center San Diego, Ca. until January 1996 at which time I was assigned to my final duty station, USS Lewis B. Puller (FFG-23).  I retired early (17 years) on October 31, 1996.  Honorable retired.
