I left HS in June of 65' to join the US Navy.  Wanted to get out and see the world.  Reported aboard the USS Carpenter DD-825 in Nov 65.  Served aboard the Carpenter until Nov 68. with a Tour of Duty in Vietnam.  Member of the Tokin Gulf Yacht Club.  Was assigned Left Gun Projectlemen in Mt51.  This is the reason I don't hear out of my left ear that well.  Was Honorably discharged in Nov 68 from Treasure Island, CA.  Later on in 1980 decided to join the USNR and served in a Combat Cargo Handling Battalion until 1984.  Honorably dischared in Sept 1984.

I have had 4 Uncles that were all Navy Chiefs and my Mother was a T-Sgt in the US Army serving in London during WWII.  I have a big military background.  Serving in the US Navy was a whole new experience for me.  It opened my eyes to the world around me.  Vietnam was another experience that I will never forget.  I was only 18 when I joined and was never away from home.  For the first time in my Life and had to learn, and learn real fast.
