Joined January 1958. Boot at San Diego, Then to NAS at Millington Tn waiting for TM school from April through September 1958. Then to New Port RI. Helped close the old TM (steam) school. Sent to Key West FL to UAW(Advanced Undersea Weapons) Electronics and weapons classes. Sent to Little Creek VA. Was assigned Special Services Div. as a Lifeguard for two years. Then to USS Galveston, CLG3 Philadelphia Pa. Was discharged before She was commissioned. Released to USNR September 1960 and discharged from the Navy March 1964.
