Joined National Guard of California at age 15 in 1955. Used those papers to join USNR at age 16 and requested active duty following completion of Hospital Corps School in 1957. Served in USNH, Agana,Guam; USNH, Oakland; and FMF with the 3rd Marine Division. Joined the USMCR in 1962. Served with the 3rd Marine Division and with India Company, Springfield, Missouri USMCR. Left USMCR in 1967 and joined the USAR. Transferred to the Missouri National Guard in 1968.  Commissioned as a Captain of Engineers in 1972 and retired as a Colonel from active duty with the National  Guard in 1995. Total of 40 years and eight months of service
