Graduated San Diego Boot Camp and served aboard the USS Alstede AF-48 from Oct.1953 'till Nov 1955. Made QM2 and served aboard the USS Canestio AO-99 Nov. '55 'till July '56.  Served aboard the USS Courtney DE-1021 July 1956 'till July 1957. Plank Owner of the Courtney, (comm. 9-6-56), made QM1 and converted to SM1 in Feb. 1957. Honorably discharged in July 1957 and enrolled in College.
