Served from August 1975 to January 1984. Went to Orlando Recruit Training Center, then Machinist's Mate "A" School at Great Lakes. Was assigned to USS Gray FF-1054 and joined her in Subic Bay, Philippines on deployment in January 1976. Served aboard USS Gray, USS Ajax AR-6 and USS Roanoke AOR-7. Made two WestPac deployments on the Gray and one on the Roanoke. Served shore duty at Pacific Fleet Integrated Logistics Overhaul Team located at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until honorably discharged in January 1984. While serving I earned the Navy Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medals(2), Battle Efficiency "E" Ribbon and Sea Service Ribbon.
