Enlisted USNR, Oklahoma City, December 1956. Went to Great Lakes Recruit Training sumer, 1957. US Navy Radar A School, Treasure Island, 1959-1960. Assigned to USS Bayfield, APA 33 1960-61. Transferred to Mare Island Naval Shipyard to recommission USS Telfair, APA 210, October, 1961. Ship moved to Norfolk in January, 1962. Extended for Cuban Crisis and left active duty in Norfolk in December 1962. 
Honorably discharged from USNR in December, 1965.
