Served on active duty September 1966 to July 1968.
QM school, 32 nd St. Naval Station, San Diego, Sept.-Oct. 1966, 
volunteered for Swift Boat duty  Nov. 1966, reported to COMCOS ONE, 
COSDIV 12, PCF 17, Da Nang, Republic of South Vietnam, Jan. 1967.  
Participated in Operation Market Time patrols out of Da Nang, Chu Lai, and  Cua Viet.  Transferred in Jan., 1968 to USS Hitchiti, ATF, Pearl Harbor.  Released from active duty July 1968 to attend University of Hawaii. Honorably discharged April 1969.
