Great Lakes Naval Training Center for EM Class "A" School, Jan 65 - May 65. Designated EMFA. Charleston Naval Base, Charleston, SC. May 65 - Aug 65. Advanced to EMFN. Commissioned USS Alamogordo (ARDM-2)Charleston Naval Base, Charleston, SC, Aug 65. Ship's company to Oct 67. Advanced from EMFN to EM2. USS Petrel (ASR-14) Oct 67 - Sep 68, home port Charleston, SC.Separated from ACDU at Charleston Naval Base, 17 Sep 68. Affiliated with Naval Air Reserve Station, Twin Cities (Mpls/St Paul) in 69, and changed ratings from EM2 to AE2.
