I attended Electronc Tecnician School for 12 Months then shipped out of San Francisco on a Hospital Ship as a passenger. Arrived @ Hawahii was Assigned to the Aircraft Carrier BonHommeRichard CV31. Left Hawaii on the Carrier Antietem (CV-36) to rendevous with the 3rd Fleet @ Eniwitok. >On the way to Antietam we heard that an Atomicbomb was dropped on Hiroshima. I caught up with the Carrier CV31 and was 1000 yards from the Battleship Missouri when the Japanese Emporer Hirohito @ U.S. General Douglas McArthur signed the Peace Treaty ending the war.
