Enlisted U.S.Naval Reserve July 2, 1942

    Boot Camp training at Newport Naval Station, Rhode Island. Attended Hospital Corpsman School at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Illinois. Duty Stations at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Dispensary in  Portsmouth, VA. Also served at the Naval Hospital, Portsmouth and the Norfolk Navy Yard in Virginia. Transferred to Boston, Mass.  for duty on board the USS Wasp, CV18 (the best carrier in the Navy).  I am a Plankowner having been part of the original commissioning crew of the Wasp in November of 1943.  Served on board the Wasp until July of 1945.  Transferred to Pearl Harbor until discharged from the Navy in October of 1945 with the Ph.M.2C rating.
