Attended boot camp at  Bainbridge NTC, Bainbridge, MD. In September , 1954. Assigned to USS Valley Forge CVA-45 from boot camp for 2 years in A Division. Transferred to USS Ticonderoga CVA-14. Worked in A Division steam heat gang, boats, and catapult systems. Transferred to USS Denebola AF-56  from 1958-1963. Worked in E division in the engine room and in charge of cargo,refrigeration as an MM1. In 1963, transferred to Great Lakes NTC, Great Lakes, IL. Remained there as a Company Commander and Drill Instructor. Made E-7 (MMC). In 1966, transferred to USS Procyon AF-61 and became responsible for the cargo refrigeration plant and engine room operations in E Division. In 1969, transferred to the USS Forrestal CVA-59 Worked in the Engineering Department in engine rooms and auxiliary division as Senior Chief Machinists Mate. In 1972, transferred to FMAG (fleet maintenance assistance group)  at NOB, Norfolk, VA as a Ship's Superintendent. Retired to the Fleet Reserve in May, 1974 as a MMCS. Now living in Amherst, Virginia
