Served from Sept 1977 to Sept 1981. Went to Great Lakes Recruit Training Center, then to Signalman "A" School in Orlando, Fla. I was then assigned to the USS Shreveport (LPD-12). Went on exercises in Puerto Rico and involved in Cuban hostage crises in 79-80. Went on Med Cruise early 80 and then to shipyards in late 80. Honorably discharged Sept 81.
