Served from November 1965 to October 1967. Went thru boot campat Great Lakes Recruit Training Centering. Was assigned to USS Springfield CLG-7 anchored on coast of France. Was there when DeGulle kicked us out and we moved to Naples,  Italy. Was in Turkey when Turkey governement ran US troops out of Turkey. Had King and Queen of Greece to visit ship before he was excelled. Ship returned to the United States for dry dock. Stopped by England, given shore leave. Excellent country to visit for many reasons. Arrived in Boston in February 1967 for dry docks. Band played on... Honorable discharged October 1967
