Served from Sept. 1985 to Sept. 1995. Went to RTC Orlando (Orlando Fl.), NTC Memphis (Millington Tn.), and NTC Great Lakes (Great Lakes Il.) before being assigned to the USS Portland (LSD-37) in 1986, after re-enlistment in 1989 I transferred to NS Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where I was a coxswain of various size boats for Port Services (Small Boat Div.) After an 18 month tour I was assigned to the Discipline Barracks as MAA at NAS Corpus Christi, Tx where I had the honor of standing the final BMOW /QD watch on board the USS Lexington (CV-16) as the Navy turned over command to the City of Corpus Christi. I ended my naval career onboard the USS Vicksburg (CG-69) with the most memorable event being I was the senior  coxswain for all boatcrews as we rescued Cuban refugees in the waters between Cuba and the Florida Keys.
