Went through boot camp at Great Lakes {Oct. 1948 - Jan. 1949}.Was assigned to Anacostia Naval Air Station, Washington, D.C.Transfered to New London , Conn. for sub school traning inlate summer of1950. Was then assigned to the USS Odax. Served aboard the Odax until early fall of 1952 and was trasferred to Bethesda Naval Hospital.Had back operation in late November and honorably discharged on March 3, 1953.
