Served from July 1958 to October 1961. Boot camp @ San Diego Recruit Training Center followed by six months @ NAS North Island.  Assigned to aviation basic training center Norman, OK followed by assignment @ NAAS Whiting Field, Milton, FL.  Transferred to USS Intrepid (CVA-11)homeported in Norfolk, VA.  Completed two full Med cruises and departed the ship in Athens Greece during the middle of my third cruise.  Flew to NOB Norfolk where I was honorably discharged.
