Served from July 69 to July 72 spent my boot in Great Lakes I then
went onto Aviation Electricians School in Jax Fla. Spent six months there and
was ordered to VQ_4 Patuxent River Naryland Naval Air Station I spent the rest
of my tour here. Was assigned to an air crew and traveled the North Atlantic.
This was a Reconnisance Squadron so the mission was critical and secret to this
day.. I was just reading that the Squadron is still commissioned but was
reorganized and now flies out of Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. I have no idea
what they do today but back then we flew modified EC-130 one of the best
planes i the Naval Air Force. We had our good times and our bad lost one plane
to fire there was a total of eight in the Squadron four in Pax River and four in
Guam. never did any duty in Guam ... I will end this by saying this was the best
four years of my entire life I will never forget the experience. I was honorably
discharged in July of 72
