Served from 1960 to 1967. Boot camp at Great Lakes. Assigned to USS
Intrepid CVA-11 out of Norfolk VA. Did two Med. cruise,s. In late 1963
was transferred to Washington DC. I was assigned to the home of the Chief of Naval Operations. I worked for Admirals George Anderson and David L. McDonald.

I attended the funeral of President John F. Kennedy while in DC.My last duty
was aboard the USS Salish out of Mayport Fla. We were the prime ship that fought the fires aboard the cruise ship Vi king Princess as she burned in the Carribean.

We also stopped Cuban Naionals from entering Guantamo Naval Base by sea while patroling the entrance to the base. By the way the USS Salish ATA-187 was a sea going tug.

PS--- THE BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE WAS MY TIME IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY.
HONORABLY DISCHARGED IN 1967
