His Tours of Duty included USNTS, Sampson, NY; USS LST 812; USS LCT 1269; LCT (6) Group 85; US LST 1047. His Awards included World War II Victory Medal; American Campaign Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaining Medal; 2 Stars Navy Occupation Medal with Asia Clasp; Philippine Liberation Ribbon.

John's (thepope@csrlink.net) Homepage is at http://home.earthlink.net/~navetsusa/members/jpaul.html. He's also submitted a NAVetsUSA Naval History site as an Iwo Jima Survivor, you can view it at http://home.earthlink.net/~navetsusa/history/iwojima.html. Sign the Iwo Jima log while you're there and say hello. You'll be able to view the many promotions we've mentioned earlier on his page also. (His birthday is this quarter, too - check the front cover!)
